I really enjoy going to gigs and listening to unsigned bands; there are so much talented people out there. That’s one reason I really like Joiners Arms and Debaser that I wrote about earlier, and that’s also why I’ve been looking for good venues in London. I found a few, for example Last Days of Decadence which seems nice as well as 12 Bar Cafe.
I would love to know what your favourite gig venues are! Leave a comment and I’ll try them out sometime

One of my favourite venues in the UK is The Joiners Arms in Southampton. It’s not a fancy venue; it’s kind of a rough venue in a definitely rough area, but that’s part of its charm. When listening to unsigned indie or rock bands I like having a bit of a rough feeling around me. Listening to that kind of music in a posh venue would ruin the ‘underground’ feeling.
The Joiners Arms has a long history of huge bands: Oasis apparently played there for only 100 pounds and the Manic Street Preachers signed their record deal there. Also to name just a few, bands like Muse, Coldplay, The Libertines, Radiohead, PJ Harvey and The Verve have also played at the Joiners Arms.
When a band comes on stage you can feel the atmosphere crackle with excitement; you know they’re hoping to be the next big band that once played at The Joiners Arms.
Have you been at the Joiners Arms already? You can find it here
