It’s easy to get stuck with the thought that you need to find new things to see and do while you are away, but not when you are at home. That’s probably because at home you have your normal routines and you don’t really think of the places around you. However, that’s a shame, you miss out on a lot of things when going through the day in a routine.
I got reminded of this on Sunday, when I and my friends went for dinner just outside our flat. We live in Battersea Park and there are a few restaurants that I walk past almost every day going to the bus. I never pay much attention to them and I never thought of trying them out but when my friends wanted a meal out we decided to try something close to us for once.
We ended up in place called La Bottega Di Noemi which we discovered was a real gem. It’s not really a trendy place but it has its own tacky charm and the service was really good. We got offered food that was not on the menu and it was really tasty. If you’re ever around Battersea Park try this small Italian restaurant out

Today I’m feeling a bit unfocused, I’m still in holiday-mood and I’m dreaming of all the places I want to visit and experience. I thought that having a look on the Go Find It map would help my daydreaming a bit. It sure did: the map is filled with so much stuff I wish I could do and see. I’d love to save up a huge amount of money and just travel the world. Clearly I won’t have the money to do this for a very, very long time but planning for the future is never wrong
Italy caught my eye and I got stuck looking for places there, it seems like such a lovely country.
I would love to experience some Italian shopping (who wouldn’t?), this store is one I’d like to visit. Then I’d love to go to an art museum and also look at some of the street art Italy has to offer, this one seems quite nice, don’t you think? Finally I would have to have dinner, I love Italian food so I don’t think I would have a hard time finding a restaurant, but Fuori Luogo seems like a great place. Of course I would also have to try out the night life: Tunnel in Milan is probably a place I’d like since underground clubs is my thing.
Oh, lovely dreams, I better start saving straight away…

Last weekend I was lucky enough to spend some time in Paris with my friends. The town was warm and sunny, people were gone on their holidays and Paris Beach was just waiting for us. All the elements were in place: so I fell in love with Paris – once again!
I particularly enjoyed the time spent musing on terraces of cafés or restaurants. Amongst the few places I tried during this heavenly mini-vacation, I remember ‘Les Philosophes’, located in Le Marais, in an old but trendy street.
I don’t know what the best part was: the lovely neighbours on the terrace, the unceasing smile of the waiter or the appetizing menu with local and fresh food or even the 280€ bottle of wine. Can you believe that? I’m not sure if the bathroom can be the best part of a restaurant but here, it surely was the most surprising…
As you probably guessed, ‘Les Philosophes’ means ‘The Philosophers’. So, inside the restaurant it is all about philosophy, even in the toilets! Indeed, the bathroom is full of mirrors, customized with messages and when you look at yourself, it is like your own conscience was talking to you. For instance, when you wash your hands you have the choice between ‘I doubt’ and ‘I’m aware’. Disconcerting experience… Which one would you have chosen?
